Why was HUB created?

Charlie Stuart Gay was working in refugee camps in Africa, as executive director of Sole of Africa, with Nelson Mandela and Brad Pitt. There he saw firsthand, the downfalls of the traditional nonprofit model. Funding is donor based, and like giving a meal to a child, the funding runs out and must be replenished soon enough. Perhaps many suffer through it in other arenas, but when funding runs out in a refugee camp, people die – largely, little children die.

Charlie was deeply shaken by this issue. After repeatedly witnessing aid organizations, even those as large as the United Nations, pull out for lack of funding, leaving hundreds of thousands to starve – he knew he must find or create a better way. To date, over $2 Trillion dollars have been pumped into Africa, leaving no one stronger, independent or self sustaining – instead millions upon millions remain dependent on daily handouts to survive. It’s a shameful truth, and Charlie was determined to turn that fact around.

Back in the States, he met with other aid leaders and professional business experts as well as inspirational teachers working to birth a new paradigm. The group aimed to unite traditional business models with new paradigm concepts to design something that would bring our planet into a better future for all. After many months sorting and discussing ideas, they created an entirely new business model, one that circulates on-going sustainable funding for aid, through a cycle of giving and receiving, that also supports HUB members, and the organization itself.

How does HUB work?

First is HUB’s eAcademy. This is the economic engine and uniting pulse of the HUB community. All HUB members subscribe to the eAcademy at $99 a month and receive teachings from 25 of the top inspirational trainers in the world. The program includes personal, business and humanitarian empowerment trainings. Weekly classes are brought to you by some of the world’s top teachers – Michael Beckwith, Barbara Marx Hubbard, Mark Victor Hansen, Jack Canfield and many, many more. This Empowerment program is HUB’s strength and lifeblood, energizing people to live giving, fulfilling lives that matter.

Forty percent (40%) of all subscription fees and all other gross income go to HUB’s “full package” aide programs, in Africa, the USA, South America and soon India. Where traditional aide is fragmented, delivering food to one country and water to another – HUB’s programs are unconventional – they too are a new model of collaboration – delivering food, water, education and microloans all in one place. By bringing different aide programs together in a coalition, HUB is able to give an entire community the tools and support to get solid footing and step up out of poverty permanently. HUB is currently putting over $100,000 per month into the aide programs,

Another 40% of the subscription fees go to create income for the Subscribers (you and I) so that we can pursue our passionate work. When we build a community of people working to both empower each other and also to end poverty, we become financially free to develop our unique gifts.

Finally, as all HUB members are subscribing to the empowerment programs, this brings the funding full circle, flowing like water around and around, nourishing everyone as it passes through.

HUB’s success is based in people cooperating and is thriving outside of the currently crashing larger economic system. It is an entirely new social and economic model that is built on caring, compassion and community – HUB generates ongoing sustainable income for aide, for us, for our community and for the people who are suffering – so that each one is supported to develop the gifts that they were born to give.
